Which ComboCurve Data Integration Solution is Right for You?

July 17, 2024

Efficient data integration is the backbone of effective decision-making in the oil and gas industry. To meet the diverse needs of our clients, we offer three solutions for integrating data with ComboCurve: ComboSync, REST API Integration, and Manual Upload/Export. Each solution is designed to provide unique benefits. This ensures that regardless of your company’s size or technical capability, there is an option that meets your needs.

ComboCurve Data Integration Options

ComboSync is built, driven, implemented, and supported by ComboCurve. Any change to our API or integration solutions, bug fixes, or new functionality is automatically applicable via our services.

To avoid timely re-work and rebuilding of type curves and forecasts down the road, many of our clients opt for an integration solution upon signing with ComboCurve, ensuring efficient data push and pull of data from the beginning.

ComboSync

A fully automated, end-to-end, no-code data integration service offering maximum efficiency with minimal client effort.

Who’s it for? Ideal for any sized team. We’ve seen success with lean teams or large operators seeking a hands-off approach with minimal technical infrastructure requirements.

ComboSync is our premier “white glove service,” offering a fully automated, end-to-end data integration service tailored for clients seeking maximum efficiency with minimal effort. This in-house solution supports bidirectional data flow, automating the ingestion and extraction processes. The real advantage lies in its ability to update data at any cadence without any client-side coding. Users can log in and find all the latest data already in place, ready for analysis.

ComboSync automates time-consuming tasks like ingesting well headers, daily/monthly production volumes, directional surveys, and more, as well as extractions of a wide variety of native ComboCurve data products.

ComboSync is endpoint agnostic, with access configured for SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift, Postgres, MongoDB, Snowflake, and more. It can also interact with major cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure. This allows connectivity with a variety of data stores. We also offer full E2E solutions for public data providers such as SPGCI, Enverus, and TGS. ComboSync’s supportive ecosystem helps streamline operations.

“ComboSync was a no-brainer to us – we can now get creative with what we’re doing because we’ve got all the data ready-to-go!”

API Integration

A customizable, self-service solution for connecting ComboCurve to your internal systems using programming tools.

Who’s it for? Best suited for companies with dedicated IT teams capable of handling complex data integration and system maintenance.

Clients can connect ComboCurve to their internal systems using Python, C#, or other programming tools, through provision of access to their tenant’s API keys. This option allows for automated data ingestion and offers significant flexibility. However, it requires the client to write and maintain their native code. API integration is ideal for clients who require advanced, customized fit-for-purpose solutions that consistently change. Self-service API solutions must also be updated regularly to account for any changes or new functionality within our external REST API. It ensures seamless data flow and integration, enabling users to ingest public or private data timely and efficiently, as well as extract data on an ad-hoc basis or on schedule.

“I’d say that [API connection] is a huge piece of what allows us to be so nimble and work deals so quickly. You can see the benefits of what we’ve built out and how the API connection to ComboCurve really helps us. Plus, the ability to directly connect land data and PDPs through the API is critical for quickly processing individual units and making informed decisions.”

Manual Upload

A straightforward, no-cost option to manually export, upload, map, and import data from various sources.

Who’s it for? Ideal for smaller teams or those new to digital data management with limited infrastructure or technical expertise.

Manual Upload offers a simplistic solution for getting started with ComboCurve. Users can export, upload, map, and import data from sources like CSV files, ARIES, and PHDWin. This option, while free with our software, can be time-consuming and repetitive, with a limited number of conversions and potential for stale data. It provides an essential starting point for companies without extensive infrastructure or technical expertise. The conversion team is available to assist with configurations, making it a practical choice for smaller teams or those new to digital data management.
